This 3-week mini-course is a survey of a theology of human suffering as understood from a Catholic Christian perspective and seen in the light of the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ, i.e., his passion, death and resurrection. It will focus on the redemptive act of Christ as the definitive and profound expression of divine love and mercy which opens to us the true meaning of human suffering. It will include three topics: 1) Suffering: A Problem or Mystery; 2) The Wisdom of the Saints and Mystics; 3) Redemptive Suffering.
